Tocqueville Society

Every social movement starts with leaders who have the passion and drive to change a community.

United Way of Cass-Clay recognizes our Tocqueville Society Members for their vision to build a brighter and stronger future for our community.  Their leadership creates measurable change in Cass & Clay Counties by helping children achieve success in school and in life, putting families on the path to financial stability and improving the health of all.

Our generous and distinguished members reflect extraordinary concern, foresight and dedication to creating opportunities for a better local Cass-Clay community through an annual contribution of $10,000 or more to United Way of Cass-Clay.

The Society is named after the French historian Alexis de Tocqueville, who expressed his admiration of the American tradition of neighbor helping neighbor in his classic treatise Democracy in America. United Way of Cass-Clay’s Tocqueville Society has had an active local membership for over 10 years.

Tocqueville Investment Plans and Step Up Program

The Tocqueville Step Up Program allows investors to commit to increase their investment over a 3 or 5 year period to reach the Champion level. Investors that commit to the Tocqueville Step Up Program are recognized as Tocqueville Investors immediately.

Tocqueville Investors who would like to move from Champion level ($10,000-$24,999) to the Advocate level ($25,000-$49,000) have the option to increase their investment over a 3 or 5 year period.

Each year United Way of Cass-Clay invites current and potential Tocqueville members to a fall event to network, socialize, and learn more about how their gifts to United Way of Cass-Clay make a significant impact on the lives of people that live and work in their local communities.
