Dear United Way Investor:

The Community Investment Review Panel (CIRP) is an exciting and influential volunteer opportunity open to United Way investors. As a CIRP Volunteer you will review applications of 3-4 programs seeking United Way funding. Selection as a Community Investment Review Panel Volunteer is competitive and limited to 50 volunteers.

Do not wait until the deadline to register (January 17, 2018) as this is one of the most highly anticipated volunteer experiences at United Way and it fills quickly. The number of applications accepted will be limited to the first 100 applicants. Volunteers who are selected will be notified of their training and site visit dates on January 26th.

United Way works closely with Community Partners to ensure quality outcomes are designed and achieved. CIRP volunteers are required to attend a one-time training facilitated by United Way staff. Together, we will review the Program Effectiveness Evaluation Tool which serves as the scorecard when reviewing online applications. This tool is newly updated to include a more focused emphasis on client outcomes and our strategic focus.

You will be notified on January 26th if you are selected to volunteer. If you choose to apply, please hold both February 7th and 9th on your calendar for training dates.

Volunteers play an important role in ensuring dollars entrusted to United Way are leveraged to their maximum capacity by evaluating programs' client outcomes, alignment with the United Way strategy, and the overall impact on the community.

As a Community Investment Review Panel Volunteer you commit to:
• Attend a mandatory 3 hour training session on either February 7th or 9th from either 8:30am-11:30am or 1:30pm-4:30pm
• Spend 8-12 hours on your own reviewing applications of 3-4 programs seeking United Way funding
• Participate in a 1-day site visit session (8 hours) touring agencies & discussing their impact with the 8-11 volunteers. Site visits will occur during the first three weeks of March
